This Zoom, online learning session will be led by Dr. Rachael Ferraro, Senior HIMS Aviation Medical Examiner and founder of Aviate Medical based in Coeur d‘Alene. What the instructor will cover: What happens after the airplane stops moving? For pilots operating in remote and backcountry environments, survival depends on the decisions made before the flight as much as those made during an emergency. Join Dr. Rachael Ferraro for an informative presentation on surviving a backcountry accident.This learning session is eligible for Wings Credits. YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE CONVENTION TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS LEARNING SESSION.
The Pacific Northwest‘s favorite fly-in continues!! The Johnson Creek fly-in is the same weekend as the Yellow Pine, ID music festival. Spend the weekend camping, exploring backcountry airstrips, and enjoying music. Friday beer tasting and corn hole tournament. Saturday BBQ tri-tip dinner and potluck. Learn how to perform first-aid skills on yourself and others when an unfortunate accident occurs in the backcountry. This 2-3 hour, hands-on learning session will be led by Dr. Chet Stringham, medical director of an EMS service for a mountainous county. Flight paramedic Gretchen Roth will assist. This event kicks off the Skywagon Convention in Coeur d‘Alene, Idaho. Course registration is separate from the convention. The first-aid course is Sponsored by AeroLEDS.
