Question for New Zealanders

Planning someday, somehow to visit NZ and experiencing first-hand what all-who 've-been-there are raving about. Would really love to schedule a Red Stag hunt. Any recommendations for lodges/guides/outfitters? Best location/time of year?

I've been to NZ twice, once to the south island and once to the north. about three years ago I spent an 2 days at Dennis Wards just outside of Rotarua. He has a property on Lake Rotarua that is bordered by a nice trout stream, a great guest house and a large exclusive property, 30,000 acres, where he does guided brown trout and red stag/wild pig hunts. Very nice family
