Insurance for C-185
Author Last Post
I called BW last week, hoping to get a competitive quote that would beat Falcon here in Alaska. Hopefully they will respond tomorrow.

I was withAir 1 for over 20 years,Marsh undercut them for the same insurance on my 185 by almost $600 this year..
IF  things change with  Marsh next year I would have no problem giving Air 1 a call again.

Daryl

Thanks, Arnold.

I just got a quote for my 180 from Bill White that saves me over $600.00 from my rate with AOPA.

as for recent experience.  I've been with Bill White since 2000.  The underwriter is AIG for me. I have over 2000 hours on my C180....I've been flying for 34 years.  I've never so much as put a dent in an airplane I own or rented when learning.

Along comes hurricane Harvey and the floods of Houston.  My airport flooded.  My hanger flooded.  The only damage to my airplane was water over the wheels and some in the lower part of the elevator.  There was no water in the engine compartment or anywhere along the fuselage.

AIG was great.  No hassle claim.  Could not have been nicer, could not have been more accommodating.  Paid the full claim at Cessna Dealer with all new parts.  I didn't want them cleaned up versus new as a matter of safety.  They agreed.  Paid the bill without incident.  Very happy.

Then....one week later get notice of non-renewal of policy.  Not happy.  Never had a claim and this one clearly not my fault.

I've used Falcon Insurance. They advertise in the Cessna Pilots Association magazine. They beat AOPA and BWI on a 55 180

John,

I been with Ladd Gardner Aviation since I left Alaska in 2006.

His dad was Lefty Gardner, famous air race pilot and CAF founder. He’s most known for racing his P-38 named White Lightnin’ and P-51 named Thunderbird.

Ladd is a great guy and an avid pilot himself. He just sold his 185, owns an F-1 Rocket and lives on an airpark.

Highly recommend letting him give a you competitive quote. Competition never hurts.

Bill White Insurance. BIll is an avid 185 pilot and specializes in Cessna 180 & 185 wagons. He now also offers coverage for aircraft based in Alaska. I have had BWI for the last 15+ years and appreciate his pricing and coverage.
