Garden Valley, Idaho Fly In
Author Last Post

The 2018 Garden Valley Fly-In will be over the weekend of June 22,23,24.  This is an ideal time of year to visit Idaho and the Garden Valley Fly In has been a very popular Club event for many years and this year it is just prior to the National Convention. We’re hoping many of you will come by for a great week end on your way to Kalispell for the convention.

Garden Valley (U-88) is beautiful 3850 x 125 foot grass strip in Idaho next to the South Fork of the Payette River.  Most people camp but there are a few hotels/motels available in the local area. The airstrip has bathroom and shower facilities. There are limited tie downs. It’s a good idea to bring your own. There is a convenience store and gas station nearby where ice, drinks, light food, fishing licenses etc are available. A little further down the road is the small mountain town of Crouch with restaurants, bars and shops. The setting is beautiful and the location is ideal for activities and fly outs to back country strips. As mentioned, it is a great stop on the way to Kalispell.

Saturday night will feature a catered buffet dinner with all the fixin’s. Activities in the area include hiking, fishing, whitewater rafting, fly outs and of course the vast Idaho wilderness with its many airstrips.

There is no av fuel available at Garden Valley. If you need fuel, the closest is Emmett (S78). There are discounts for IAA and 180/185 Club members and it is owned by club members. Cascade is also nearby.  Nampa (S67), Caldwell (EUL) and Boise (KBOI) are about 40 miles south.
