STC for Jump Door
Author Last Post
Most doors are installed with a field approval on a 337, even a STC needs a 337. You should have a copy of the 337 in your paperwork or a log book entry, you can also get a CD of all the records submitted to Ok City through aircraft registration branch. Look back to the history, where it was operated, who operated it and where and when the modification might have been done. If this turns up negative you may need to find a a similar or better yet the same modification, have the modification documented and inspected by an A+P make out a 337 and get a field approval based on a pervious installation and 337. These field approvals are tough to get, now they require a DER to sign off the data and all that costs money....unless you find a friendly FAA inspector...
