Newer gear for a Cessna 180
Author Last Post
I have the STC and Heavy duty gear, both NEW for 35% less than Cessna OEM gear or used serviceable. The early model 180 only had the LD wheels aft gear in the IPC.

INSTALLATION BY THE TCDS.  It has been successful, but not always, to use as an approved method ,an earlier TCDS that showed the HD gear on the 180, all years, all models. But most cases the FAA says "the latest revision TCDS" must be used" for new installations"  and the later TCDS do not show any landing gear on it. The TCDS only shows major components. It is not designed overrule the most current IPC. Granted it was approved data. The FAA and IA's love STC's and original OEM parts.

INSTALLATION BY STC.  The best way is with the STC from the 170 club, STC SA01756NY I believe it is 250, or mine. STC SA00800SE I will honor that same price or it comes free if you buy a set on my new or used serviceable gear.

There are a bunch in the Document Library. Have a look to see if that is what you need. Otherwise I’ll scan what I have as soon as I get up to the hanger.

Yes, I have this if it is not already in the Documents Library. I thought I had scanned it in and uploaded it. I got a copy of it in 1999 from a Club member when I joined. It was a big help. It is not an STC but rather an approved 180 parts list update / memo from Cessna which included the newer 180 and also the 185 landing gear. A copy should be in the Document Library. I’ll have a look later. If not you will have to wait until I get to the hanger to make a copy.

I am in the process of upgrading my gear from the original 1953 c180 straight gear legs to the newer 1955 on asymetrical legs. Is there any STC or paperwork that needs to be filled out for the change with the FAA.
any info would be helpful, MH
