Just curious why you're not looking at the EI CGR30?  I just purchased one after looking at all the options on the market. 
 
Not able to compare the two. . . .
However, my JPI700 has been flawless for over 12+ years and very accurate.
One feature I use a lot is... holding it on a specific cylinder that may run hotter than the rest during full power climbs, etc.  One can use the mixture control to keep that cylinder in the safe zone for CHT temps using the JPI readout.
