Have you put the oil temperature probe in a boiling pot of water to verify its accuracy?

520D in 1985 185. I did change vernatherm today. Plenty of room without removing prop but not enough room for a torque wrench. Problem was oil temp never went above 150 degrees. New vernatherm didn't solve the issue. Haven't flown on any days over 85 degrees though.
